Poutine. Chips, cheese, gravy. Don’t think I’ll bother again, even for only €4.50 .
Also, Monsieur V V Poutine. It is not recorded how he feels about the other poutine.

The key to good poutine is squeaky cheese curds.

It depends on the cheese. The French Canadians use cheese c urds, in the U.K. we use grated medium white cheddar cheese though some takeaways use mozzarella.

I was listening to a bit by K. Trevor Wilson yesterday. He was saying how one of the big differences between Canadian and US cuisine is that US food is actively trying to kill you with all the deep-fried, cholesterol-filled everything. I had in my mind an image just like the one above and though, “R eally Trev? Really?”

Chips, cheese, gravy
Well, there’s your problem! Poutine is supposed to be made with fries , not chips.

Poutine is a very hard food to fuck up but it seems like foreigners always do. You need hot BEEF (not chicken or mushroom) gravy, good cheese curds (not mozzarella, cheddar, or god forbid processed cheese), and edible fries. That’s it. Nothing more, nothing less. Or else it’s just fries and gravy with extra stuff, not poutine.
Yes I am a snob.

Which one?

You bet ya, we are. Lol.
Sometimes we even replace the gravy for chip shop curry sauce.

the top one. grazy looks too thin, yet chunk, the cheese is terrible, and the frys look over cooked.
portion size looks good thoguh, thats about all its got going for it. 2/10 poutines.

Jesus, that looks terrifying.
The best poutine I’ve had routinely came from the campus shawarma place. The shawarma meat on it sealed the deal.

So good though.
Chips, cheese and gravy (as we call it here) is the northern staple food for after a night out on the drink, just as much as pizzas or kebabs.

It probably is, just the colour looks off. And yeah, poutine was always a good choice after a night out with friends.

It does have a lot of gravy.
But I mopped up the gravy with a battered pork sausage.
